Girls in tech, youth and activism

Youth, gender & activism.

Girls make up more than half of our tech groups: 55%, year after year. With partners such as WECF we work on equality, climate and access to work, and we connect young people with European opportunities.

The cause · why this programme exists

Even in the EU’s leading country, technology is built by men.

Romania has the highest share of women in IT in the European Union — and yet almost 3 in 4 specialists are men. And it has the most young people neither in education nor in work in the EU.

27,8%

of IT specialists in Romania are women — the highest share in the EU, but far from parity

Our role · how we work

We are building a place where “this isn’t for you” doesn’t exist.

We bring female role models from technology, mentoring and European opportunities to young people.

  1. Local diagnosisWe start from data: the schools, the villages and the real needs of young people in Vrancea.
  2. A programme built with expertsCurriculum and activities designed together with specialists and teachers.
  3. Training & equipmentWe bring kits, laptops and mentors wherever they are missing.
  4. Working in the communityFree, hands-on activities at school, in the village or out in the field.
  5. Measurement & public reportingWe count the results and publish them — verifiable figures, not promises.
